New Year, New Website, New Blog

Updated: Dec 14, 2018

Welcome to the launch of my new and improved WBI Sports website and first blog post! Hi, my name is Scott Watson. I am the owner of WBI Sports and Head Coach/Owner of Seattle Wave Baseball. I have been coaching for 20 years including select, high school, and college baseball. Also, I am a father to two incredible children!

I am very blessed, because I get to mentor kids and coach baseball daily! I love what I do! When I began, I wanted to teach the game the right way. Sure I played in college, but that doesn't translate to coaching. I began corresponding with coaches at the D-1 level from all over the country. I quickly learned that they were ordinary guys like me. Locally, I surrounded myself with some of the brightest baseball minds in the game - Ken Knutson (Cleveland Indians, present), Joe Ross (Kansas City Royals, present), and Gary Hatch (semi retired educator/coach). Today, I have several mentors all over the country!

I've learned a lot over the years. It's time to share! That is the reasoning for my blog. I hope to inform, inspire, and instruct those who follow me. Specifically, I am excited to share some of the Baseball Intelligence that I've learned. Some of the topics will include the differences between practice and training, process over outcome, velocity enhancement, movement patterns versus static mechanical teachings, cultural differences in past and present, conventional wisdom, and a lot more.

I hope that you'll explore my new and improved website! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I am here to help.
