I was sold on the training at WBI the first time I saw it in action. Elastic bands, medicine balls, weighted vests, and “K” boards were not part of the baseball I grew up with. But just watch and listen one time and the logic of it all becomes crystal clear. If you’re like me you probably taught your kid/players the mechanics of throwing or hitting as we knew it growing up. (My sincere apologies to the kids I probably led down the wrong path with such gems as “Throw overhand!, Push off!, Don’t short arm!, Swing level!”). Some of the new terms I learned include “functional strength”, “shaping”, and my favorite, “throwing is like being on a merry-go-round that’s riding on a flatbed truck going downhill”. My son was “saved” at age 13 working with Coach Watson and is currently in his 4th year of increasing arm strength (velocity) and shaping of proper body mechanics (arm health). In addition to cutting edge instruction at WBI, the experienced staff also shares their vast knowledge on all facets of the game. I’ve never seen kids so eager to get their next work-out as they are with these programs at WBI. - Tim Trautmann
